About Sundown Cinema: Film night in the Park
Film Night in the Park, San Francisco was established in 2003 in Washington Square Park and later grew to include screenings in Dolores Park and Washington Square Park. The event was produced by the San Francisco Neighborhood Theater Foundation between 2003 and 2018 when over 150,000 people attended the event. In 2019 Film Night in the Park merged with the SF Parks Alliance’s Sundown Cinema. Films are presented free of charge on a giant outdoor screen in beautiful park settings. Attendees are encouraged to picnic before screenings and are discouraged from bringing chairs.
